Eva Eichholz

Cuero- Eva Laverne Eichholz, 84, formerly of Bay City, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008. She was born January 22, 1924, in Gonzales County to the late Ernest and Pearl Taylor Mayfield.

She was a graduate of Gonzales High School in 1942. In March, 1943, she married F. D. Eichholz, Jr. in Cuero. She retired after working 35 years in the retail business. Eva was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Cuero, the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, AARP, and the Hochheim Community Club.

Survivors are a sister: Jane Vestal of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Mildred Taylor and her loving husband of 54 years.

Visitation was Friday, August 22, at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral service was Saturday, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Paul Daniels, Michael Daniels, Roddy Sternnadle, Kent Sheckler, Jim Eichholz, and Bill Eichholz.

Honorary Pallbearers: Deacons of the First Baptist Church in Cuero.
