Officers investigate burglaries

Yorktown Police Department reports investigations are underway concerning two burglaries and two criminal mischief reports filed last week.
Chief Paul Campos stated a burglary was reported Thursday at a warehouse belonging to Indianola Trading Post located on First Street and South Riedel.
Computers, digital camera and other electronic equipment was taken and the owner reported two guns were taken. The value of the items was listed at over $9,000.
Officer Josh Chanek's report indicated a window had been broken and the office had been ran-sacked. Also the warehouse cat had been killed.
Chief Campos said the department had collected evidence at the scene and cruelty to animal charges will be included when a subject is apprehended.
Also there was a burglary at Little Red Apple located at 118 S. Church St. Entry was made by breaking through a door. A cash register was taken with a small amount of change. Officers later located the register in an abandoned feed store.
Criminal mischief charges are facing the individual responsible for slashing pick-up tires, breaking a window and ‘keying' the vehicle located in the 200 block of S. Church.
