Crossroads Home Educated Children will host their annual Activity Fair and Expo on from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 4102 N. Ben Jordan St., in Victoria
CHEC is a non-profit organization that has served homeschool families for almost 30 years.
Membership is open to all homeschool families in the crossroads area. Families considering home education for their children are welcome to attend. Veteran homeschool parents will be on hand to share their experiences, and refreshments will be served.
As a community service project, CHEC will be collecting new socks for the Victoria Homeless Coalition at this event. New socks are needed in sizes for men, women, and children. CHEC will also be collecting Box Tops for Education to fund CHEC projects and events.
Booths representing classes offered, yearbook publishing, and other activities and events will be staffed, and parents can sign up their students on site.
CHEC annual membership dues will be collected for new and returning members. Dues for the 2014-2015 school year are $25 per family, and provide access to educational digital streaming, members-only web access, and invitations to social events, field trips, and community service projects.
