Thompson graduates from basic military training

 

Air Force Airman Haley G. Thompson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.
 
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
 
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
 
Thompson is the daughter of Jeff S. Thompson of Cuero.
 
She is a 2014 graduate of Cuero High School in Cuero.

Veterans Day service held at DeWitt County Courthouse

A Veterans Day service was held Nov. 11 at the DeWitt County Courthouse. Cuero VFW commander Bobby Schley led the Pledge of Allegiance. John Mueller led the invocation. Mike Cavanaugh gave the address. The Ladies Auxiliary to Cuero VFW 3972, Pilot Club of Cuero and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary made the presentation of wreaths. THE CUERO RECORD

Wildcats battle Burton to final whistle

After being down 12-0 at the half, Yorktown's Wildcats battle back against Burton in the bi-district championship Friday in Schulenburg. By the final whistle the Wildcats had narrowed the score to 18-13 but time ran out before they could post any more points.
