Former Lady Gobbler Carter named to National Team of the Week

 Kerrie Carter has been named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for the week of December 7 - 13. The senior women’s basketball forward for Concordia University earned American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week on Monday.
Carter led CTX to a 2-1 week, posting back to back double-doubles along the way. Carter averaged 16.3 points on .483 shooting, to go with 12.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 3.0 blocks. Against Texas A&M International on December 13, Carter scored the game winning basket with four seconds left, giving CTX a 64-62 win. She also posted a career-best 16 rebounds versus TAMIU. Carter scored 16 points and grabbed nine boards while leading the Tornadoes to an 83 - 73 win against East Texas Baptist after trailing by 18 points in the first half. Later in the week, Carter recorded her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds in a 66-63 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Carter joins sophomore forward Ebony Cunningham of New Jersey City, senior forward Alexis Hargbol of Shenandoah University, junior guard Colleen hart of Tufts University and senior gaurd Kym Wenz of Wooster College on the Team of the Week. The D3hoops.com National Team of the Week is the only major national recognition of Division III collegiate men’s and women’s basketbal players and is in its 13th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.
